Wikiness, the business in the spotlight
What is Wikiness?
Wikiness is a project born to highlight the business sector, large companies, and professionals, which, although logical, is not taken for granted on Wikipedia due to the criteria of encyclopedic relevance that seem to favor other figures rather than managers.
Wikiness is developed with MediaWiki, free wiki software for the web, created by the Wikimedia Foundation. The word Wikiness derives from the term "Wiki" (the software that allows for the rapid creation of content) and "ness" (business, meaning economic activity)
Wikiness ... "the missing piece"
Paradoxically on Wikipedia, it is possible to find common players who are part of Serie B, but not high-level executives belonging to prominent companies, even internationally, or the same companies that generate millions of euros and operate on a national or international scale.!
Therefore, we believe it is appropriate to dedicate space on this portal to Executive Managers and Companies that stand out in their sector, both at the Italian and international level, without neglecting high-level professionals. At the same time, we intend to eliminate two of the distinctive elements of Wikipedia that often prove frustrating for users who contribute to content creation, namely::
The abolition of the concepts of ENCYCLOPEDICITY, COI, and Sockpuppet
Why abolish the concept of ENCYCLOPEDICITY? Because it is an ambiguous and often personal concept that anyone can use without valid justification, but to maintain the entry, one must often provide motivations and justifications that are frequently not taken into consideration.
Why abolish the concept of COI (Conflict of Interest)? Because who, if not a company representative or the professional themselves, knows better their own work situation, personal circumstances, and other factors? It is therefore right not only to offer professionals and companies the opportunity to write and participate in managing, modifying, and enriching their own entry but also to have the final say regarding aspects of the entry that they consider unclear, incorrect, or poorly structured. This does not imply that anyone can write about themselves or their company in a untruthful, fanciful, or excessively self-congratulatory manner, but rather that an objective and neutral description should be maintained.
Why abolish the "negative" concept of Sockpuppet? ? Because a user may have multiple accounts for various reasons, and we do not consider this practice extremely negative, especially since on Wikiness registration and acceptance of accounts is mandatory, and users must confirm their identity, demonstrating who they are.
Wikiness is the "ADDED VALUE"
Furthermore, Wikiness differs from Wikipedia also for another fundamental concept: Wikiness is born to give relevance and prominence to managers and companies, so we invite you not to focus on these pages to express negative judgments or report criticisms and issues related to the entries, but rather to contribute positively to their enrichment. Everyone is invited to intervene, but only to add value to the entries and not to denigrate them.
Wikiness is against ACCOUNT ANONYMITY
Finally, we asked ourselves why a user would want to participate and contribute to an encyclopedia while remaining anonymous. Certainly, the right to anonymity towards the public is sacred, and we want to preserve it for anyone who desires it. However, user account anonymity from the administrative side can unfortunately favor spam, issues with the inclusion of vulgar and offensive content, as often happens on Wikipedia. Therefore, we believe that users should be somewhat traceable at least by administrators, as this can help prevent vandalism of entries, disruptive behaviors, and harm to others' reputations, etc. Regarding the username, users will be able to use whatever they prefer, just as is done on Wikipedia. In this way, it will still be possible to remain anonymous to other users and the public in general, but it will not be possible to contribute via IP, instead requiring the creation of a verified account. This choice may limit contributions, it is true, but at the same time would ensure more accurate management of the portal by anyone wishing to be an active member.
Account/user creation methods
Anyone who owns a website with clear registration information in the WHOIS service to identify the subject in question, using the email associated with the domain itself, will have the opportunity to create an account and contribute to the project. For example, the owner of the site Wikiness.pro can register on Wikiness using the email info@wikiness.pro. Alternatively, it will be possible to register using a Certified Electronic Mail (PEC) or other methods that unequivocally demonstrate being a traceable person. However, registration on the portal must be confirmed by an administrator before the user can start editing on Wikiness.
Wikiness is completely free
The portal is completely free and does not require payment for the inclusion or updating of information. However, direct payment systems to the portal or to community users for supporting content inclusion, opening pages, and generally tasks related to text editing, code creation, consulting, etc. are not excluded (see #L'abolizione dei concetti di ENCICLOPEDICITA, COI e Sockpuppet).
Accepted forms of payment may include direct donations to the portal, but it is important to note that such donations will not guarantee any type of privilege. Their sole purpose will be to support the project, helping to expand it, manage it, and keep it active over time.
Wikiness Start
Wikiness has simple and clear instructions; you just need to create a free account, search for your name, company, product, service, term, etc. that you want to introduce into the portal, and create or modify the appropriate page.
Follow these links to learn detailed instructions for editing or creating a page complete with index, subtitles, infobox, links, notes, citations, and categories.
Candidates for administrator for Wikiness
Candidates must have a good seniority, have many verified contributions, and be sufficiently experienced in wiki projects.
After that, send an email explaining your motivations: Administrator email
Administrators will not enjoy special privileges, will not earn anything, and must be extremely responsible and courteous with all users of the Wikiness community, under penalty of immediate revocation.
What not to include in Wikiness
Copyrighted material:
The portal does not accept duplicate texts but only unpublished ones that are not present on other portals on the internet, not even on the sites referenced in the texts.
Each text will be checked with software like "Plagiarism Checker" that allows for the detection of copied content already present on the web.
Do not risk having your pages deleted due to the duplication of texts online, or it will be very difficult for your page to be accepted later.
This precaution is essential to avoid penalizing both the Wikiness portal and the website from which the copied texts were taken in search engines.!
Spam material
Spamming on the Wikiness portal is prohibited, as it will result in a permanent ban. Since the portal is already a place of promotion, there is no need to use spam techniques or post links and texts randomly everywhere.!
Insignificant material
Avoid inserting texts that lack logical sense or are of little utility. Strive to write interesting and relevant texts to the purpose of the portal, which is to promote companies, professionals, etc.
Harmful and defamatory content
The Wikiness project aims to promote and make known, not to defame or include content that may be harmful to others. Therefore, it is important to include only purely informative information that does not harm others' reputations; otherwise, one risks a ban.

Removal from Wikiness
If someone wishes to remove a page concerning them, it will be sufficient to send an email by filling out the form: Contacts
The email must be sent from a verified account, using an email address that allows for the identification of the subject.
For example, an account with an email registered with the domain of a company's website can request the removal of the entry related to that company.
Include in the text: "Removal of the page: http://www... and the reason"
