Francesco Starace: the beginnings of his career
Francesco Starace was born in Rome on September 22, 1955. After graduating in Nuclear Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano and various work experiences at General Electric, ABB Group, and Alstom Power, he joined the Enel Group in 2000, the largest utility in Italy and one of the major energy companies in Europe. Initially, he held the position of Head of the International Division.
Over the years, Francesco Starace has held several senior roles at Enel. In 2002, he was appointed General Manager of Enel Green Power, the group's company focused on renewable energy. In 2005, he became Head of the Energy and Gas Division in Italy, while in 2008 he was appointed Head of the International Division.

In 2014, Francesco Starace was appointed CEO of Enel, succeeding Fulvio Conti.
